Experience: Overview

Overview

Since 2016, we've completed over 100 projects across more than 40 African markets, work that spans political risk, market entry, due diligence and stakeholder engagement, for clients ranging from African start-ups to multinational corporates and sovereign wealth funds.

What connects this work is not the sector or the deal size. It's the combination of ground-level insight with sector expertise, built by staying close enough to a market to know what's actually happening, not just what's reported.

Sectors we've worked across

Agriculture and agribusiness, energy and infrastructure, financial services and fintech, mining and critical minerals, health and health systems, climate and carbon markets, and technology and digital economy.

That track record matters less as a number than as a pattern. Forty markets is not forty versions of the same playbook. It's forty instances of testing our method against different political systems, regulatory cultures and levels of institutional maturity, and refining our judgement each time. A market entry strategy that worked in Kenya rarely transfers cleanly to Angola, and knowing exactly where it breaks down is itself part of what we offer.

Who we've worked with

Impact investors, development finance institutions, NGOs, development agencies, multinational corporates and sovereign wealth funds, each bringing a different definition of success, but the same need for advice grounded in evidence rather than assumption.

The range of clients matters because it keeps our method honest. A sovereign wealth fund and a development finance institution can be looking at the same market for entirely different reasons, financial return against development impact, and getting the analysis right for both means we can't default to a single template.
